Campbells Soup Scotch Broth 55, is from the second portfolio of Soup Can prints made by Andy Warhol, following on the heels of his Soup Can Painting show in Los Angeles in 1962. Each label, including all the lettering, was made by hand by the artist to mimic the actual Campbell’s Soup Can. In this impression the red is very fresh and the sheet is in excellent condition. The popularity of the Soup Can is enduring. An article is 2007 year’s New York Times observed that every day, a soup can is left on the grave of Andy Warhol.
