Color woodcut on Japan paper. 20,2 x 20,2 cm. With the estate stamp on the verso.
Possibly proof print for the Viennese luxury art journal "Ver Sacrum" which reproduced a couple of woodcuts by Henneberg in 1903 but not the present one which belongs to a series of views of castles situated along the Danube valley "Wachau". Hugo Henneberg is better known as photographer and for his picturesque photographs using the so called gum bichromate process, a 19th-century photographic printing process. Henneberg also cut woodblocks for the workshop of Carl Moll, who signed many of the prints pulled from those blocks.
