Margarete Hamerschlag was trained at the famous "Jugendkunstklasse" of Franz Cizek at Wiener Kunstgewerbeschule and studied later with Bertolfd Löffler (Wiener Werkstätte) and others in the same school which formed talents like Oskar Kokoschka at exactly the same time. Scarce proof print from the 20s, before the artist went to London in 1936 where she didn't touch the medium of woodcut anymore. Provenance: Etstate of the artist.
